Who is Judge Amy Coney Barrett?  She was born on January 28, 1972 in New Orleans, Louisiana.  She is the eldest of 7 children.  She is a graduate of Rhodes College and Notre Dame Law School.  She was a clerk for the late Justice Antonin Scalia before pursuing a career as a litigator and law professor.  In 2017, Judge Barrett was confirmed as a Federal Judge to the US Court of Appeals Seventh Circuit. Her judicial philosophy is conservative and she is a practicing Catholic. 

She lives in South Bend, Indiana and is married to Attorney Jesse Barrett.  They have 7 children, two were adopted from Haiti, one in 2005 and on in 2010. 

On September 26, 2020, President Trump nominated her to serve on the US Supreme Court.  Senate Majority Leader McConnell issued a statement that he would hold hearings in the US Senate for her confirmation.

If confirmed, Judge Barrett would be the fifth woman to service on the US Supreme Court.  She has 7 children, two adopted from Haiti, and one with special needs.
